Having some experience of working in the other countries TCI staff and leaders asked God to show us new opportunity for the ministry. The door was opened in the Caucasus where political instability and special desire for freedom and independent became a national feature or historical tradition for many. But at the same time for long the region was in religious vacuum and Christians didn't always have an opportunity to get an integral knowledge and skills for their ministry in church and society.
Desiring to meet the needs of local Georgian churches during the years 2006 - 2008 TCI invited young leaders from that region to study at TCI in Ukraine. At the same time we were discussing the possibility of opening TCI Extension in Georgia.
In the end of November, 2009 we had the first class of TCI Georgian Extension. There are 15 students studding there at this time. Most of them are ministers and pastors in the churches.
Many people ask us why it was Georgia? The answer is because we see a special strategic value of this region:
- Georgia is a country that stays in peace with Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the citizens of this country also have free access to Turkey.
- Nowadays we see that Georgia has rather democratic principals and religious freedom. It'll allow us, with God's help, to build big and secure project
